Does My ValueOptions Insurance Cover Drug and Alcohol Rehab?

Value Options Addiction Coverage

ValueOptions, now known as Beacon Health Insurance, is accepted at most drug and alcohol treatment centers, including Elevate Addiction Services. Following the Affordable Care Act, ValueOptions/Beacon provides coverage for substance abuse and mental health issues.

How To Decrease Treatment Costs With Beacon Health Options Insurance

The exact amount of coverage provided for drug rehab will depend on your location and your specific insurance policy. Elevate Addiction Services does accept ValueOptions insurance, and a member of our admissions team is happy to walk you through your estimated costs, totally obligation-free.

How Much Will ValueOptions Payout for Addiction Treatment?

The amount that ValueOptions covers for drug rehab depends on the type of treatment you receive. Not all programs are created equal. Some will cost more than others and offer different amenities and treatment types.

Individual copays, coinsurance, and deductibles will vary from plan to plan and treatment center to treatment center. If you have a rehab center where you believe you would like to enroll in treatment, reach out to them directly to verify your benefits. This will help you better understand your out-of-pocket costs.

Why Finding the Right Addiction Treatment Is Important

Treating addiction issues is complicated, but it isn’t impossible. There are many ways to approach treatment for drug and alcohol abuse, and not all of them will work for every person.

The complicated nature of treatment is why it is essential to be honest about your situation before enrolling. Some people will have a greater chance at a successful recovery if they enroll in treatment programs like inpatient or outpatient

Beacon understands that the most effective drug rehab programs treat every aspect of the individual: physical, behavioral, and social well-being. Many addiction treatment programs focus on healing someone’s symptoms, not the root cause of the problem.

ValueOptions support integration at the provider level. They will work collaboratively with treatment providers to provide you with the best treatment possible.

Things to Consider When Choosing An Addiction Treatment Program

Because no two people will recover in the same manner, here are a few things to consider when choosing an addiction treatment program:

  • if you or your loved one has been abusing substances for more than six months
  • If you possibly have a co-occurring disorder such as depression or anxiety
  • if you are addicted to more than one substance
  • if you have ever experienced a relapse

People who have experienced one or more of the above are usually referred to an inpatient treatment program because they give more initial support during the treatment process.

For others who have not experienced any of the above factors, outpatient treatment may be a good option.

The most important factor is what treatment option you think will work best – inpatient treatment is still an option even if addiction isn’t severe. If you feel that getting away from home is key to overcoming addiction, then inpatient may be the best choice

How To Pay For What Insurance Doesn’t Cover

Insurance plans, like those provided by ValueOptions, are the most reliable way to pay for addiction treatment services. However, there are typically other expenses associated with treatment that will not be covered by insurance.

Individuals may be responsible for:

  • their deductible – this is the amount you will need to pay out-of-pocket before your insurance covers their percentage of the benefit. Depending on your plan, the amount of the deductible and the coinsurance percentage will vary.
  • applicable copays – Copays are a set amount that the individual is required to pay. The amount can change depending on their plan. Some insurances offer copays that apply to the first week of treatment, while others may not require a copay at all.
  • coinsurance – Coinsurance is a percentage of the cost the individual or insurance will pay. Common coinsurance ratios include 60/40, 80/20, and 90/10, with the insurance company paying the larger share.
